FUSION TAKEN TO ECSTASY!

We can say that fishing for some of us is not just an excuse to drink alcohol or attend a barbecue, a meeting with friends for socializing or a hobby. Fishing means much more!!!

In a few lines I will tell you about the most recent fishing game, more so the participation of the Myon Baits team in one of the most renowned competitions in the country - "Carp eDiem - 2020 -"

As usually before going fishing the preparations start a week in advance, our preparations started a little earlier, with the idea of ​​not omitting anything, to prepare the strategies in advance so as not to risk that the actual game takes us by surprise, to look for solutions in advance in certain deficient cases. Thus, starting from noting in lists and tables all the equipment, the necessary bait and lures, the minimum comfort and the needs of the team, we anticipated with all the team members that we would make a good impression at this competition.

As an unimaginable suspense and adrenaline begins to set in even 2-3 days before, we manage for all team members to meet and finalize the last details; from food and firewood, portable toilet and down to the smallest detail of finesse, rigs and the strategy for starting the game. Thus, on Saturday to Sunday night, each of us "rested" like a rabbit, a fierce emotion being tense in us. With each km less to the location, the air in our lungs seemed to be increasingly insufficient. We were eagerly waiting to meet the other 23 teams and for the draw to begin, to see what fate decides, luck in what was to be an unforgettable contest. I don't know if we wanted a specific stand, but we already had a plan in mind, to make a beautiful figure and not disappoint in any way, and more than that, to prove in the competition that a young team in the competitions is doing everything it can to be on the podium. After the young member of the team, "father Gyuri" (as we all affectionately call him), pulls up a stand where we have fished in the past, we don't breathe very lightly due to the composition of the teams in sector A. A tough match is announced both in the sector and in general:

A stand 21/A5 full of surprises, strong and experienced stand neighbors, would reassure us immediately after the completion of the installation in the "field" and the last elements, Myon Baits flags, very well delimiting our fishing area.

A final technical meeting was to be held in one of the tents, establishing exactly what to start with from the first day of the competition. Being a tight-knit team and understanding each other from the looks of our eyes, it didn't take long and we later tried to lighten the atmosphere so that in the morning we could start strong with all the "batteries" charged:

We slept……a bit OVER….that's how short the night seemed to us, until the phone alarms started to sound. One more stressed than the other, we got up immediately after the delicious coffee with Nutella started to achieve its purpose.

What was to come did not take into account what a tiring week we would face, we were prepared body and soul! With the rods on the rods, implicitly the spare ones, we waited with bated breath for the START OF THE CONTEST. After a rather weak day where at the scales at 18:00 we ranked with only 11.48 kg, the night would have a really promising fishing in store for us.

Thus, with the sunset of the first day, an 18+ appeared in our rods. We were starting to get hopes that the 20+ would surely come too.

After a rather naive first night with only 80.5 kg, we would start a second day, with a different strategy and a different plan of attack. Combining the well-known REDSquidPills 24mm + 16mm boilies with EcoNutt (the first Myon Baits tiger nut-based birdfood designed specifically for the Sacosu Turcesc pond, which is to be officially launched at the beginning of 2021), we would, at the evening scales, install ourselves in the top ranking of Sector A.

As an enigma that was not based on the experience of fishing at night on Sacos, we had the pleasant surprise again that on the scales after the second night we presented over 80kg again. Had it really entered the books? We watched with slight boredom the other teams from the other sectors and the classic question marks began: What are we not doing right? Why are the others from sectors B and C a few hundred kilograms heavier than us?

We continued our strategy, our plan, and with a lot of work and confidence in ourselves, we managed to combine the useful with the pleasant, to have a dream week, going through many fluctuations in tension, the adrenaline in us baring its fangs.

Fatigue seemed to be taking its toll on each of us, although we were very well organized in this regard. We divided the nights into 2 teams so that our performance was constant, hence the good results during the night.

We remained at the top of the sector ranking throughout the competition, with the last night starting and ending promisingly in our favor!!!

Immediately, after the last official weigh-in, we would do our calculations and settle for a podium finish overall, which wasn't bad at all. We had fulfilled our goal of the competition to some extent! 

The most exciting moment of the week was when we found out that we were not only on the podium but we won and are positioned in 1ST PLACE overall thanks to the very good score obtained in the sector and the 5 biggest fish!

I would like to congratulate my teammates for all the effort they put in, for all the hard work and patience they had throughout the 4 days and 5 nights spent together, for the trust and perseverance that each one of them had in themselves and for us being a truly Magical Myon Baits TEAM!!!
