La Myon Baits, Punga a rămas la Kilogram!

At Myon Baits, the Bag stayed at the Kilogram!

An optical illusion on store shelves

We live in a time when prices fluctuate – and, let’s be realistic, they usually go up. In this context, manufacturers in all fields are looking for solutions to maintain their profits. You have probably noticed at the supermarket that the chocolate is thinner or the bottle of juice is smaller, even though the price is the same.

Unfortunately, this phenomenon – called "Shrinkflation" in economics – has also reached the waterfront, in the fishing bait industry.

More and more bait bags, which once weighed the standard 1 KG, now "discreetly" weigh 900g, 850g or even 800g . The packaging is just as big, the air in the bag is more, and the price... the price has remained unchanged.

Myon Baits Commitment: No Shortcuts

At Myon Baits , we have made a principled decision: We refuse to enter this game.

We believe that respect for the fisherman and the community that supports us is more important than an artificially adjusted profit margin. When you order a bag of boilies, pellets or groundbait from us, you get exactly what it says on the label: 1000 grams (1 KG) of product . Not a gram less.

We want to be completely transparent: if we have to increase prices because of raw materials, then we will increase them. We have no choice. But we will never reduce the standard quantity of 1 kg just to keep an attractive "psychological price" per bag. We prefer the painful truth to a beautifully packaged illusion.

Fisherman's Mathematics: What does "only" 200g missing actually mean?

You may be wondering, "Does 200 grams really matter?" The short answer is: YES, hugely.

Let's do a simple calculation. If a competitor sells 800g for 30 Lei, and we sell 1000g also for 30 Lei:

  1. Percentage difference: We offer you 25% more product for the same money.
  2. In practical terms , those missing 200g (which you receive from us) means:
  • About 3-4 well-loaded PVA bags .
  • A healthy handful of boilies to maintain the bait bed at a critical moment.
  • The difference between running out of bait on Sunday morning or catching the last fish of the game.

And that's the calculation for just one bag... But what if you're preparing for a long game and buy 10 bags? For 10 800g bags, you've lost 2 KG of bait. The difference becomes devastating for your strategy and your pocket.

Basically, for every 4 bags purchased from the competition (at 800g), you lose the equivalent of an entire bag.

Conclusion: Be an informed buyer

We don't mind competition; it makes us better. But we do mind practices that mislead the fisherman. The purpose of this article is not to criticize other options on the market, but to encourage you to make an informed purchase.

Our advice? Always check the label. Don't just look at the bag size, read the net weight.

We, the Myon Baits team, will continue to deliver premium quality, tested recipes and correct quantities.

Thank you for choosing the right quality (and quantity)!
